a bank bested a gesture of the ocean a warble shifted the wind a nail driven and a needle to the leaves left you alone at the line to draw in your dripping lift and wrung you dry that it might save you a shiver

frozen like sole-leather they pushed uphill and were upset by friction against reason and over themselves whose fluid minds counted beyond sight fought battles in aisles staved defeat on skirted knees with no instrument of dedication whose conquests shivered as dogs and bruised as brawling bears shed as boards in the cold and set about to split cleanly, quickly as bolts cleave decks of thin ships steered port to palm
